This Month at The Residences

Published: September 7, 2021

The momentous unofficial end of summer is behind us, but September is buzzing with great entertainment, great company, and spectacular events and trips. If you’re thinking about downsizing, living in a resort-style community with fun, like-minded seniors, and looking for something new to do every day, you’ve come to the right place!

Join us for any of our events this month, whether it be a trip or something in our community, to experience a taste of what it’s like living at The Residences.

Friday, September 10th, Entertainment with Les Deegan, 2 p.m.

Sit back and relax with our residents as we take in some music of yesteryear. Les Deegan joins us to get us on our feet and keep us dancing.

Friday, September 17th, Entertainment with Frank Scafuri, 7 p.m.

Known for his holiday hit song, “A Small Town Christmas,” we’re delighted to be joined by Frank Scafuri at The Residences. He’ll be lighting up the night with his classic hits.

Monday, September 20th, Casino Night, 6 p.m.

Take on professional dealers in blackjack and continue to press your luck in roulette during our casino night. We’ll have music, prizes, and a buffet dinner. Don’t miss it!

Tuesday, September 21st, Miniature Golf Open, 1:30 p.m.

After our putting contest in August, we’re seeing if all that practicing has paid off. We’re hitting a mini golf course for what’s sure to be a fun time.

Wednesday, September 22nd, Entertainment with the Perfect Strangers, 2 p.m.

This Long Island trio specializes in classic rock music that’ll bring you back decades. Bob Blatchley, Claire Kolensky, and Guy Pezzullo have played all over the island in various vineyards, restaurants, and festivals.

Friday, September 24th, Jake’s 58 Casino Trip, 1:30 p.m.

We’re heading out to Islandia for a trip to Jake’s 58. Perfect time after getting our feet wet with our casino night earlier in the week.

Sunday, September 26th, Marty G & the G-Men Entertainment, Plainview Library, 3 p.m.

Marty G and the G-Men have been performing together for over 25 years. These former members of the Chelsea band have played countless weddings, clubs, street fairs and rock & roll shows. Their style and choice of songs is unique among today’s artists. Their vocal talents have been compared to some of the great groups of the 50′s and 60′s.

Monday, September 27th, Laurel Lake Vineyards, 12 p.m.

We’re on our way to the North Fork of Long Island to sample some wine. From their website, “The expansive two story deck overlooking the Vineyard provides an opportunity for guests to enjoy a glass of wine while enjoying the scenery!”

Tuesday, September 28th, Fall Festival with Entertainment from Denice Given Band, 2:30 p.m.

Our community will be decked out for the start of the Fall season as we celebrate the segue with food, drinks, and great music. Self-described as a band that plays “Swing to Gaga and everything in between,” the Denice Given Band will keep the party rocking all afternoon.

Wednesday, September 29th, Elder Law Seminar, 2 p.m.

We are thrilled to be joined by Stefans Law Group to share a presentation and workshop on asset protection and legal paperwork for estate planning, exceptionally important topics as we age.
